As an artist, I have chosen realism as a way to express my thoughts, observation and imagination. Realism is not duplication, but a re-invention process which requires imagination, deep thinking, extensive research and solid painting skills.
Learn MoreBorn in the Chinese province of Hunan in 1942, Yim Mau-kun is a graduate of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Shortly after graduation in 1965, he joined the Guangdong Province Artists Association. He received wide acclaim as runner-up in the National Chinese Art Exhibition and as the first prize winner in the Guangdong Province Art Exhibition. In addition to painting, he worked as a stage designer for fifteen years (from 1965 – 1980) for the Zhaoqing Regional Theater in Guangdong Province.
